The miracle of life in Dalai Lake

Dalai Lake, or Dalai Nuo’er Lake, is one of the four famous lakes in Inner Mongolia, located in the Hexigten Banner, city of Chifeng. It is a low-concentration saltwater lake with a circumference of more than 100 kilometers, the second largest inland lake in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

Due to years of drought and other reasons, the surface of the lake has shrunk, and the unique water quality makes it difficult for foreign fish to survive. Only two species are found, namely carp and Huazi fish.

As the third largest swan lake in China, Dalai Lake is also known as the “Hundred Bird Paradise”. In April, after the ice and snow had melted, thousands of birds gathered there. Up to 80,000 swans soared over the lake.
