Mount Sanqingshan National Park
Located in the northeast of Jiangxi province lies the Huaiyu mountain range. The highest mountain of the range is Mount Sanqingshan, which is marked by a concentration of fantastically shaped pillars and peaks.
The Mount Sanqingshan National Park, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site since 2008, protects the scenic quality and rich biodiversity. There are 48 granite peaks and 89 granite pillars, many of which resemble human or animal silhouettes.
The natural beauty of the mountains is further enhanced by the juxtaposition of the granite features against the vegetation. The area’s particular meteorological conditions also make for an ever-changing and arresting landscape, with bright halos on clouds and white rainbows.
