“Moonlight Delight” ballet broadcast

2021 is a special year. It marks the 50^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Belgium. We also celebrate the 72^nd anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The China Cultural Center in Brussels broadcast a livestream of the “Moonlight Delight” ballet performance in honor of these milestones as well as the Mid-Autumn Festival and the upcoming National Day.

This livestream was made possible with the support of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Kingdom of Belgium, the Mission of the People’s Republic of China to the European Union and the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism. The ballet was brought by the Shanghai Ballet, who performed in Belgium in 2019 and presented us the live broadcast of “Blossom” in 2020.

This year’s program included the second act of the classic version of Swan Lake and the second act of the modern ballet Symphony No. 9 by Beethoven, composed by Shanghai Ballet’s principal dancer WU Husheng and choreographer CHEN Qi.
