Film projection – Wolf Totem, by Jean-Jacques ANNAUD

To celebrate in an informal way the upcoming opening ceremony of the China Cultural Center in Brussels, and to let a few curious people discover its premises, a very first film screening was held at the Center beginning of September. Wolf Totem is a French-Chinese coproduction, directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud and adapted by the book of Chinese author LU Jiamin. The event successfully attracted visitors including high-level personalities as well as a local mainstream audience.

This preview event at the China Cultural Center of Brussels reached a great success. “Visitors from the European Commission, European Parliament, international think tanks, diplomatic missions, Belgian government, local universities and cultural institutions attended the event and filled up the projection room”, says Mr. Yan Zhenquan, director of the Center . The event also successfully attracted the first local mainstream audience in the Center. The Chinese Cultural Center in Brussels will host the opening ceremony in mid-September and this event was an important warm-up reception for the upcoming activities of the Center.
