Chinese Fashion Night
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of relations between China and the European Union, the cultural event “Chinese Fashion Night” was staged at the China Cultural Center in Brussels. The catwalk was conducted by two fashion designers from China, Grace Chen and Tiffany Pattinson. Officials from the European Commission and European Parliament, Belgian politicians and journalists attended the show.
The Mission of China to the EU and the China Cultural Centre in Brussels jointly hosted the “Chinese Fashion Night” on the evening of the October 21st, in the China Cultural Centre itself, in the heart of the European District in Brussels.
The « Chinese Fashion Night » is a joint initiative in celebration this year 2015 of the 40th anniversary of EU-China diplomatic ties by the Mission of China to the European Union and the China Cultural Centre in Brussels in cooperation with the Belgium-based company Atlas International Culture. On the occasion of the “Chinese Fashion Night”, the China Cultural Centre in Brussels stages its prestigious building into catwalk platforms and showroom for two designers invited of honour, Chinese star designer Grace CHEN and Hong Kong born rising artist Tiffany PATTINSON.
The Night started with the Chinese Culture Talk including keynote speeches by two designers to their audience, and offered an opportunity for European designers and fashion followers to meet most important tastemakers in China. Ambassador of the Mission of China to the EU Yang Yanyi and director of the Brussels Chinese Cultural Center Yan Zhenquan both gave a speech on behalf of the organisers. This session was then followed by the catwalk shows presenting the latest original collections of the two designers.
The catwalk was styled by Belgian fashion benchmark professional Guillaume Joveneau. With his rich experience in fashion events such as Brussels Fashion Days and very famous Petits Riens catwalk show, Guillaume Joveneau put his expertise and talent at the full service of Grace CHEN and Tiffany PATTINSON to create a catwalk of elegance in the heart of an historical site of the Dexia Bank.
The Night combines two different visions as a two-way mirror on the stage. On one hand, the « Power dresser of China » Grace CHEN Yehuai presented cocktail dresses and evening gowns full of lightness. Her collection also revealed her iconic « Little Red Dress ». On the other hand stands the originality of Tiffany PATTINSON who will add her personal touch to the Night with her futurist and colourful collection, with a strong focus on environmental-friendly creations.
