Brussels Comics Festival is coming soon!
From 2 to 4 September 2016, the 7th edition of the Brussels Comics Festival will be held in Brussels. During the three days, various activities are organized at the China booth, which is jointly organized by China Cultural Center in Brussels. Throughout the activities, the delicacy of the Chinese comic culture can be presented perfectly to the public. Moreover, this is the very first time that China Cultural Center goes outside of the Center and participates in local cultural activity.
During the three days, China Cultural Center will take the public on a journey about China comic culture around the country. Visitors can not only admire an exhibition of 50 original strips created by 10 Chinese cartoonists and a unique series of strips from the comic “San Mao”, a character rooted in Chinese popular culture, but also participate in book signings and meetings with the illustrators. Moreover, creation of original drawings by two Chinese cartoonists, including the famous artist Zao Dao, can be admired by everyone.
Don’t worry, children will not miss out all the fun either. They can watch cartoons from Chinese popular culture and get to work creating their own comic strip character under the watchful eye of our artists.
Undoubtedly, there will be a lot for you to discover at the China booth throughout the weekend. Visitors can gain much knowledge about Chinese comic culture and also receive a little Chinese souvenir. Besides, visitors can also try their luck with our lucky draw to win a signed copy of Zao Dao’s book!
Afterwards, following the Brussels Comics Festival, China Cultural Center sets up a 2-week special movie program of Chinese animation movies to start the Chinese Movie Nights season again! During 2 weeks, you will discover two masterpieces of Chinese animation of all period. So if you are willing to discover more about Chinese comic culture, we are happy to offer two more opportunities for you to dive into Chinese comic culture while watching comic animations with friends and family!
