Bring you into the world of Weiqi

Completed at the end of June 2015, the China Cultural Center hosted its first event called “Bring you into the world of Weiqi (Go)” in the first days of July. To lead the activities, it welcomed two professional Weiqi players, Mr. ZHANG Wendong Ku-dan and Mr. FAN Hui.

The Foreign Office of the Chinese Ministry of Culture and the China Cultural Center in Brussels hosted the China International Exhibition “Bring you into the world of Weiqi (Go)”, supported by the Chinese Wei Qi Association. Among the attendees, several high-level guests were present: the Director of the Weiqi Competition Committee and Deputy Secretary-General of Chinese Wei Qi Association Mr. ZHANG Wendong Ku-dan, professional Weiqi player Mr. FAN Hui, President of the European Go Federation Mr. Martin STIASSNY, Chairman of the Belgian Go Federation Mr. Joost VANNIEUWENHUYSE, International Go Federation Director Mr. Martin FINKE, and European Go Cultural Center Director Mr. Harry VAN DER KROGT.

During the activities, Mr. ZHANG Wendong gave a lecture and played simultaneous Weiqi games with the guests and attendees. Mr. YAN Zhenquan, Director of the China Cultural Center in Brussels, stated his will to contribute to the spread of the Chinese culture in general, and Weiqi in particular, in Europe.
