Xinjiang Movie Night: “Fade Away Pastoral”

Today, as part of the “Xinjiang Is a Wonderful Land” culture and tourism week, we share a film about the traditional way of life of Kazakh herders. “Fade Away Pastoral” 远去的牧歌 is a 2018 drama that focuses on the Kazakh herdsmen transitioning to nomadic pastoralism. Among the Kazakh people living on the grasslands of China, a fatal accident leads to a conflict between two families, a moving story which was set in the striking landscape of the grasslands in northern Xinjiang.
