Junior Cultural Ambassador
The China Soong Ching Ling Foundation collaborated with China Cultural Centers abroad to launch the “Bridge of Friendship & Ambassadors of Culture” event, searching for “Junior Cultural Ambassadors” (aged 13-16) to be the messengers between cultures.
The theme is “Build a Dream for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics”. The selected Junior Cultural Ambassadors will have the opportunity to participate in a series of enriching activities. Candidates from the China Cultural Center in Brussels are WANG Xinhui and DU Yu. You can vote for them on this website!
Wang Xinhui was born into a family of music, but equally enjoys sports, especially swimming. She also participated in last year’s “Online Story Club for Children around the World” by the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation and won a prize for telling her story of fighting Covid-19. You can watch her submission for “Build a Dream for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics” below!
Born in Antwerp, Du Yu has always embraced Chinese culture, winning third place in the Belgian division of the global Chinese Recitation Competition. In 2019, she ranked second in the Belgian division of the “Cultural China·Water Cube Cup” Chinese song contest.
Emma Navez lives in Brussels and has many interests, including painting, dancing and playing violin. She won the first prize in a national piano competition in Belgium, the gold medal in a national synchronized swimming competition and ranked first in the school calligraphy and drawing competitions.
