Telling stories of poverty alleviation in China through photos
Poverty alleviation is a universal issue of the international community. A strong impetus in promoting the sustainable, economic and social development of poverty-stricken areas is tourism. In recent years it has provided a path out of poverty for many impoverished people and has become a key area of poverty alleviation.
After the video series, this exhibition presents the local models of poverty reduction, the course of development, the people’s outlook and the achievements in poverty alleviation through tourism. Multiple perspectives are explored as the photos show the unique tourism resources, pristine folk culture and people’s work and life in formerly impoverished areas.
