Synopsis
In the crushing poverty of rural China, WEI Minzhi, a 13-year-old girl, is sent to a remote village in order to be the school substitute teacher. Barely older than her students, the shy girl is charged with keeping the class for one month. She will only be paid if all the children continue to attend school upon the return of Mr Gao, the teacher. When one of them is sent to the city to find work she is determined to bring him back at any cost.
